  • An observation was completed at the day program in Lawrenceville, GA. The day program at Lighthouse reflected excellence in person-centered services. Staff/individual interactions were cordial, respectful, and warm. Choice was evident in routine interactions and there were abundant, meaningful activity options available on hand, and accessible to individuals. It is a place where I would proudly send a loved one in need of services. Excellent, pervasive, and individualized positive behavior support was evident and appeared to be just "business as usual".

  • External stakeholders praised the behavior management program and principles that LightHouse instills every day. 


  • LightHouse is commended for its quick referral process and turnaround time. An external stakeholder explained that LightHouse is always welcoming to referrals and that the organization is known for its exceptional work with individuals who present with behavioral challenges. The stakeholder went on to say that LightHouse has been successful with helping individuals graduate from behavior plans. LightHouse works well with individuals who have disabilities without taking away their rights.


  • A parent of an individual served explained that the organization helped her daughter learn how to communicate better to express her desires and needs. They are now able to navigate the community without any paid supports due to the services received from LightHouse.

  • LightHouse is commended for its health program at the day support program. LightHouse employs two registered nurses who do an overall monthly health check, and this has brought serious medical issues to the attention of families that may not have been caught until an individual's annual physical.......


  • Discharge and exit summaries are extremely detailed, including a lengthy recap of behavioral challenges and protocols, a picture of the individual, and a phone call to the receiving organization. There is additional follow­up with individuals who have exited LightHouse's programs to see how they are doing and if the new organization needs any support.
